Snack TimeSome days you just have to go with the flow.  I am a very routine oriented individual, so when I deviate from my routine, my day just seems hectic.  Yesterday morning I played Ultimate Frisbee for the first time in forever.  I know now because today my legs and hips feel like they were stretched like a rubber band and snapped back a thousand times.  No big deal though, I actually enjoy being sore.  It is like my body saying, “nice work yesterday Emily.”

After my Green Piña Colada Smoothie wore off, I made myself a little snack consisting of baby carrots, celery, and homegrown grape tomatoes from my garden.

I am a very visual eater, meaning I have to see my food before I know I want it.  I love a variety of colors and textures.  That must be why I love fruits and veggies so much.

After some snacking and tending to my Pinterest addiction (follow me here), I headed over to my sister’s place to house sit for her.  I enjoy house sitting for her, the company is great!

Later that evening my mom and I watched one of my faaaa-vorite movies (which she had NEVER seen): Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.  Call me a child, but if you have not seen this movie and you are a fan of small hidden humor and puns like I am, just watch it!  Like now!  As much joy as this movie fills my heart with, last night it made me a bit… sad.  Jessi and I both loved this movie.  Maybe it was because we both loved food or creative ideas, maybe kids movies just reminded us of our simple childhoods that did not include the drudgery of college exams and being more financially independent; either way, Jessi and I loved Cloudy with a Chance and often quoted every line.  Even if no one else hadn’t the slightest idea of what we were talking about, we cracked each other up and did not care who judged us.  That’s true friendship I would say.

I was at Starbucks one day when she was working there, and was waiting for my drink order.  An older business man approached the counter and ordered some upside-down-triple-espresso-soy thing, Jess wrote down the order without skipping a beat as she always did and then asked the man for his name to jot down on his cup.  His name was Steve.  Yes, a normal name.  Unless you have seen this spectacular movie.  It took every ounce of strength for her not to yell “STEVE!” when the man’s order was up.  We both just locked eyes and giggled.  Needless to say, Steve and the rest of the Starbucks crowd were quite confused.  Our absolute favorite part of the movie, though, is one that’s so minor and ofter overlooked.  All I will say is, “Strawberry’s my faaavorite!” and know that Jessi is smiling down from Heaven.
