This week’s work out includes the use of a TRX suspension system, or you can use gymnastics rings. You need some kind of suspension for rows or ring rows, where you hold on to the grips and pull your body up to the grips/handles/rings. It’s always a bonus to add a second pause at the top of the pull. Try it for yourself!

the open ended| crossfit
The 2018 CrossFit Open ended. I did each workout as prescribed, meaning I lifted amounts of weight as written, and followed all the rules on burpees, handstand push-ups etc. Each year, I can compare fitness to others around the world and see my ranking over the years. I was a little disheartened at first to learn that I did worse than last year, according to my ranking. Continue reading
day twenty-seven, -eight & -nine | fueled up
Happy Friday everyone! Boy, was it a
good great week! The final week of my Whole30 and I honestly feel on top of the world. My food has been in control. I have learned what works for me. I have my “sugar dragon” under control. It is pretty amazing, but I will go into further detail in my final Whole30 summary post this weekend—so stay tuned. As for this week, I’m focusing on my meals, workouts, and recovery sessions. summer vibes
I am back in Colorado for the summer and feelin’ the summertime love! Everything is so green and sunny and hot and I am in my element. So far my summer has consisted of training, fresh meals, pool time, good friends, BBQs, 4-square, long bike rides, nights out in the town and even summer school is more enjoyable. It is crazy to think that July will be here next week–my summer bucket list is still so long! I am on a good pace however, and I am enjoying every moment in the mean time. Continue reading
memorial day
I know many get lost in the three-day weekend with BBQ’s, sales, friend and family gatherings, but Memorial Day is not a picnic to those who truly know the meaning behind it. Don’t get me wrong, I do take part in the three-day weekend festivities, but only after I reflect on those lives lost that fought for my country’s freedom. I pray for those families and friends of those fallen soldiers and admire them for their bravery and strength. Continue reading
hearts, hearts and more hearts
I have been both single and in relationships for Valentine’s day, so I speak from experience when I say that Valentine’s Day is a very weird holiday on both parts. V-day has always just be eh for me. I don’t hate it, I am not its number one fan. In my opinion, it is just a holiday in which everyone gets all stressed out and–more often times than not–just straight up sad on the 14th. Please people. Calm down. If you have a significant other, just relax. Spend the day together. Do not build these huge expectations of grandeur. My best Valentine’s day with my boyfriend at the time was a night spend at home making dinner together and watching Scrubs. If you are single, oh my gosh! Enjoy it! Once I embraced being single (and happy) this Valentine’s Day, I am more in favor of this day of love than I used to be.
thursday challenge
This workout is my killer workout from Thursday. I was hoping to get it up by Friday, but as you know, life is a whirlwind! I just got home again from a mini vacation/weekend away, but I will do a separate post about that. My best friend wanted me to help her get back in shape after spending a few month abroad. I was more than excited to help out and challenge myself along the way.
spring semester
Classes resumed this week for me! Yay college! I actually am really excited about this semester. What has changed? The more difficult classes? Longer and busier schedule? Nope! My new outlook on life! Remember my New Year’s Resolutions? Yeah, those are still going strong–if not stronger than ever!

sweat and sweet
Yesterday was just one of the many weekend days I spend just hanging out and doing whatever comes to mind. No schedule, no limiting obligations, no commitments… it is so nice to have days and weekends like that. This is my last weekend to have such an agenda–rather lack of agenda since classes resume on Tuesday to kick off the spring semester. As my last free weekend, I decided to do a home workout and make sweet potato chips to enjoy.
