I hope everyone had a GREAT Fourth of July! I know I had an amazing and patriotic day! I absolutely adore holidays, and I get very wrapped up into the festivities. Everything I did yesterday had an element of red, white, and blue to it, like my Strawberry, Banana, and Blueberry Fruit Bowl! Yummy!
I made this smoothie a couple of days ago for my post-run pick-me-up. If you did not already know, I am a smoothie addict! This smoothie was inspired by the fresh organic cherries I bought at the store the other day. Cherries always remind me of summer, probably because they are in season now. If you say you do not like cherries and the only cherries you have had are those neon red Maraschino cherries… shame on you… I love cherries, but I loathe those fake ones. I suggest you give real cherries another shot. Why not begin with my Cherry Vanilla Smoothie?
Good morning! Today I am going to start my Strength Circuit Series! These are my various workouts I do first thing in the morning right after I wake up. They are not meant to be super crazy cardio or extreme weight lifting circuits, just something to wake me up and kick-start my body and metabolism. There are five rotations I go through, one per day. I woke up and immediately began drinking water. This is extremely important when trying to flush out your body. I filled up my water bottle about three times yesterday morning. It is also important to start your day off on the right note—meaning breakfast. I needed fuel for my day, but something that would not upset my already-bloated stomach. I decided on a Green Detox Smoothie.
Some days you just have to go with the flow. I am a very routine oriented individual, so when I deviate from my routine, my day just seems hectic. Yesterday morning I played Ultimate Frisbee for the first time in forever. I know now because today my legs and hips feel like they were stretched like a rubber band and snapped back a thousand times. No big deal though, I actually enjoy being sore. It is like my body saying, “nice work yesterday Emily.”
Good morning all, or should I say good afternoon?
I usually wake up early on Tuesdays to go for a little 3 mile run, but as the heart of summer creeps on, so does the heat. I find that I am setting my alarm earlier and earlier just to avoid the hot sun… Continue reading
