I LOVE tea. I have it at least 1-2 times a day. There are so many kinds and amazing flavors to try. When I discovered Buddha Teas, my tea-loving heart rejoiced! Because there are so many types and brands of teas available, I like to make my tea time special. Buddha Tea does just that for me!
Remember my vegan month back in October? Well the new year is here and with it comes my resolutions. I have many, but I will save those for another post. Oh, why not go ahead with one of them? I am prepping myself to do another vegan month very soon–how does February sound? What better way to prep myself with Emily von Euw’s cookbook Rawsome Vegan Baking?
As a busy engineering student, most times I find it difficult to get out for some “me” time. I am really trying hard this school year at making my health, both physical and mental health, a top priority. Why? Because being healthy makes me happy and when I feel happy, I feel like my life is more put together, and when I feel like my life is put together, I find that I am more inclined to study more effectively. So, this is how my “me” time this weekend went thus far… Continue reading
I have not felt myself lately. I have felt bogged down, stressed out, and really anxious. I often seem to spread myself too thin, trying to accomplish many tasks in a small amount of time in order to feel successful and make sure I do not let others down. During one of my recent chaotic clouds though, I made myself pause for a moment to ask, “Aren’t I on summer break?” One of my biggest fears in life is not having enough time, but if I am trying to cram too many experiences in a brief period of time, won’t I miss something? I made this smoothie a couple of days ago for my post-run pick-me-up. If you did not already know, I am a smoothie addict! This smoothie was inspired by the fresh organic cherries I bought at the store the other day. Cherries always remind me of summer, probably because they are in season now. If you say you do not like cherries and the only cherries you have had are those neon red Maraschino cherries… shame on you… I love cherries, but I loathe those fake ones. I suggest you give real cherries another shot. Why not begin with my Cherry Vanilla Smoothie?
Good evening everyone! I hope your Sunday has been nice and relaxing. If today was your “rest” day, get ready to kick back into gear with my circuit series tomorrow because here is rotation four!
Rotation four took about 12 minutes to complete and burnt about 60 calories (*time and calories burnt are based off of my body and level of exertion). And YES, I know I spelled “Bicycles” wrong, but the edit took too long to redo—my apologies. Continue reading
Yesterday, I did one of my favorite things: I ventured to the local Farmer’s Market! Like I said before, I love going grocery shopping, and a farmer’s market is just like outdoor grocery shoppin—full of fresh and local treasures! Back in Fort Collins, I went to the Farmer’s Market every Saturday to stock up on my fresh fruits and veggies for the week until they moved indoors for the winter. During the winter, they periodically held indoor markets that I scribbled down on my calendar so I would not miss the few that they had! Continue reading
Good afternoon everyone! Here is day three of my morning Circuit Series (if you missed day one or two find them here and here). This one took about 10 minutes and burnt 50 calories! The highest yet! (*calories burnt based on my body and exertion level)
Hello all! It is day two of my Circuit Series! (If you missed day one, find it here!) I completed the second rotation this morning in under nine minutes and burnt about 40 calories (keep in mind that every body is different and this is just an estimate based off of how I performed*).
Good morning! Today I am going to start my Strength Circuit Series! These are my various workouts I do first thing in the morning right after I wake up. They are not meant to be super crazy cardio or extreme weight lifting circuits, just something to wake me up and kick-start my body and metabolism. There are five rotations I go through, one per day. When I have completed all five (five days), I will just begin again on rotation one the following day. I work based off of rotations, rather than designate Monday to one circuit, another to Tuesday and so on, because this allows me to listen to my body. Continue reading
