Happy Saturday! It was a great day of training and getting back on track with my meals. After one hiccup today while training (eat protein before squatting people—not just a green smoothie), I got back to the grind and successfully rounded out my first week on my new program. Whoop! Plus, after a some inspiring words from the Whole30‘s Stephanie, I managed to control my snacking and cravings more today than I have been. Continue reading

day fourteen & fifteen | don’t give up
Here we go, halfway there. I have to say that these past two days have been my most difficult personally. I am admitting this to you all, I almost quit. Quit not just on the plan, but also just falling off of this day-by-day Whole30 challenge diary I have going here (hence my catching up with a double day post). But this is what this blog segment is about, keeping a real account of what happens on my personal journey with the Whole30. Continue reading
day thirteen | health binge
Uh-oh. I have a confession. I have been “healthy” binging. I am not saying that binging is healthy by any means. What I am saying is that I have been consuming a lot of healthy foods (mostly healthy fats) to an excess. Yeah, it’s time to stop that. Continue reading
day twelve | fat outta hand
So day twelve of my Whole30 and day two of my new training program and I have begun to notice something… Where my carbs at? Don’t get me wrong, I have NO adversity to fats. In fact, I love fats a little too much. I am a nut junkie, an avo connoisseur, I practically bathe in coconut oil/milk/flakes. Because I am so in tune with my body now, I realized that whenever I eat more clean, I tend to crave more fats, healthy fats, but fats nonetheless. Continue reading
day eleven | chocolate craving
Day eleven just kinda hit me. Like, “whoa!” is it really day eleven. According to the Whole30.com stats, day ten and day eleven are when most people quit the Whole30 challenge. Well then, I guess I MADE IT! I am home free, right? Wrong. I only hoped. Today after dinner, after my first day back to work in three weeks, my first day on a new training regimen, I could have used a little square of dark chocolate. Continue reading
day ten | relaxation
Not much to report on day ten. Kind of a boring day in the blogging world, but I have to say, I do love my Sundays. Meal prepping, cleaning, odds and ends, lounging about, stretching, mobility work, etc. I will just go through my day in terms of eating real quick, then I am off to another one of my favorite Sunday activities: an epsom salt bath soak while reading a book! Continue reading
day nine | willpower
Day nine. Whoop! I survived the Whole30 at my work holiday party! Now that’s an accomplishment! I guess I will start with the beginning of my day though. Surprise! I woke up and went to Crossfit ;). Who would have guessed? I used to bring a shake for during my workout to sip on throughout, but it is for sure NOT Whole30 approved. Fructose anyone? Great for fuel, but I have realized that not every workout needs the same amount of fuel. Continue reading
day seven | travel
It’s been a whole week on my Whole30! Today was a travel day for me, in the air and on the road back to Colorado. I had plenty of time to read and catch up on my podcasts which I am very grateful for. I stayed paleo all day too. Traveling is no excuse to eat like crap. Continue reading
day six | lazy days
Not much to report on day six of the paleo Whole30 challenge. It was a rainy day my last day here in Houston. I mainly was a couch potato I have to admit. I didn’t even get my steps in for the day until I hit up the treadmill an hour and a half ago. I mainly just snacked on veggies, fruit, nuts, and meat all day until dinner. Continue reading
wear, eat and share your greens
Happy St. Patrick’s Day–yesterday! You all know me by now, I love, love, love holidays, and St. Paddy’s Day is one of my favorites (my favorite is next!). I know I owe you all a “catch up” post, since I have so many new recipes to post, workouts to blog about and life revelations to journal about, but holiday posts take precedence. So gear yourself up for a Pot o’ Gold Breakfast, Skinny Shamrock Shake, Veggie Roast and Vegan Grasshopper Parfait. Continue reading
