When in Colorado, you have to spend as much time as possible outside. There is really no other way. After moving back up via a two day road trip, I was itching to be back in the sun and back in nature. The day after I got back (when I was still residing in a hotel), I made it out to Horsetooth Resevoir with my boyfriend to go kayaking. It was so much fun! A nice way to work those arms and shoulders without even realizing.Aside from kayaking, my Colorado welcoming consisted of hiking, upon hiking, upon hiking… so much hiking that I am going to split up my trips into two posts! I was in hiking heaven!
An essential part of hiking though, comes before I hit the trails. Preparation is key. I make sure I have plenty of water and some quick nutrition to keep me going through the day. Believe it or not, I averaged about 700 calories burned per day when hiking on a trail. Above are some of my favorite fuel bars (aside from Quest Bars which no where seemed to carry…)
Anyone else see what I see?
I just love being in nature so much. It gives me joy to wonder at all the simplicities nature has to offer. Go out and enjoy nature for yourself!
